Calendula Salve
A potent yet gentle salve for a range of first aid and skin irritation uses.
Made by a double extraction method to extract both oil-soluble and alcohol-soluble compounds of the Calendula flower. This gives a higher potency and a more full-spectrum end product. The alcohol extraction also kills and deters bacteria in the final formulation, as does the evaporating-off process.
This salve is shelf stable and is formulated with ingredients that deter rancidity. It should last several years. If it smells like old crayons or nuts, throw it away. It’s best to use a clean knife or spatula to scoop the salve out of the container.
Uses:
Use as needed for: minor burns, skin rashes, abrasions, dry and chapped skin and lips, insect bites. Clean broken skin thoroughly with soap and water before use.
Do not use: on deep or open wounds, if irritation or sensitivity occurs. Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Test any product before consistent use. Test is a small spot on the inside of the elbow and monitor for redness or irritation over 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
Cold pressed jojoba oil, organic beeswax, organically grown calendula flowers, vitamin E mixed tocopherols, essential oil of juniper berry

Calendula is anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and supports wound and tissue healing.
Jojoba oil is a carrier oil most similar to the ph and makeup of our skin’s natural sebum. It is deeply moisturizing and protects the skin’s lipid layer.
Beeswax is a natural hardener and keeps the formula in place on the skin.
Vitamin E mixed tocopherols helps deter rancidity as well as speed healing and relieve itching. Essential oil of Juniper berry also is used to help preserve the salve as well as assist in absorption. Total essential oils are less than .1% of the total formulation
